About our classes
Whether you’re just learning to dance or continuing your dance education, Sundown Blues has you covered.
If one-on-one instruction sounds like a good fit for you, try a private lesson. If a group lesson is more your speed, you’ll be happy to know that we teach a beginner’s class before each social dance. We also teach monthly Welcome Workshops, where you’ll get a full three hours of instruction focusing on blues dance fundamentals.
You don't need to bring a partner for any of the classes we teach—in fact some of them are explicitly focused on solo dancing. Just bring yourself and some comfortable clothes.
If you are new to our curriculum and you feel that you've already mastered some or all of the material in a level, have a chat with one of our instructors about where you'd best fit.
For more information, see our full curriculum.
Level 1 are all drop in classes. Just show up and join in! We teach Level 1 classes every week, so you'll never be left out.
Level 2 and above are structured as progressive series classes. Because each lesson in the series builds off the previous, we don't allow drop-ins. Register now »
We periodically teach three-hour Welcome Workshops to kick-start your journey into blues dancing. No experience or dance partner is required. Learn more »
All classes have a 15 minute late policy. If you show up more than 15 minutes after the class has started, you will not be allowed to join.

Friday Night Blues
Progressive series start on the first Friday of every month.
Beat the Blues
In order to give instructors more flexibility and students more variety, Beat the Blues does not currently follow the Sundown Blues curriculum. This may change in the future, so check back for more information.
